After a roller-coaster offseason that included a surprising trade request, a social media scrubbing and a half-dozen other receivers signing lucrative contracts, the final domino fell Sunday when wideout Deebo Samuel agreed to a three-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers.

The deal is worth a maximum value of $73.5 million over the three years and includes $58.1 million in guarantees, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lamar Jackson remains hopeful he'll agree to a contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens, but the quarterback doesn't want negotiations to drag into the regular season.

"I think so," Jackson said when asked if he thought a deal would get done. "I think so. I think so. We'll have to see."

When then asked if a deal would happen before the Ravens open the season on Sept. 11 against the New York Jets, Jackson responded: "I said there is going to be a cutoff [in talks]. So, hopefully."

Jackson, one of the few players in the NFL who doesn't have an agent and represents himself, has been eligible for an extension since last year.

DK Metcalf is signing a three-year, $72 million contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks, according to a source.

Metcalf will receive $58.2 million in guaranteed money and a $30 million signing bonus, the largest ever for a receiver.

He reported with the rest of the team Tuesday, then did not take part in any portion of Wednesday's first practice amid the contract negotiations.

Ezekiel Elliott doesn't feel any pressure over his future with the Dallas Cowboys.

The running back's contract doesn't have any guaranteed money on it past this season.

"I think it is a big season, but I think you can't look too far down the road," Elliott said. "I think if I focus on every day, if I focus on having a good day of camp, if I focus on taking it week by week, I think everything will handle itself. And I don't think there's really a reason to look that far down the road. I think if I handle my business every day, then I'll be in a pretty good situation at the end of the season."

Elliott's $12.4 million base salary is fully guaranteed as part of the $90 million extension he signed in 2019.

The Cowboys have an easier path financially to move on from him in 2023 because there is no more guaranteed money in his contract. He is set to make $10.9 million in 2023.

The San Francisco 49ers have released Dee Ford after three injury-plagued seasons.

Since Wednesday's move comes after June 1, San Francisco will spread out the bulk of the more than $11.5 million left on his deal over the next two years. The move saves $1.12 million against the 2022 salary cap.

The 49ers originally acquired Ford in a 2019 trade with the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a second-round draft pick. They promptly signed Ford to a five-year, $85 million deal.

Julio Jones has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

Jones had a disappointing season in 2021 with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans released Jones in March, just one season after acquiring him in a trade from the Falcons.

Jones appeared in just 10 games because of injuries and had career lows with 31 receptions for 434 yards and just one touchdown reception. 

The Cincinnati Bengals are prepared to give Joe Burrow a massive contract extension once the quarterback is eligible.

"I can tell you that we couldn't be happier with Joe Burrow," president Mike Brown said. "He's everything you would wish for, especially for a quarterback in Cincinnati. Our whole focus is going to be on keeping him here."

The No. 1 pick in 2020, Burrow will be eligible for a massive extension following this season.

The Bengals will also see Tee Higgins become extension eligible before the 2023 season, while Ja'Marr Chase's deal will come up just one year later.

The Cleveland Browns are signing Josh Rosen to a one-year contract, according to sources.

Rosen is expected to serve as insurance at quarterback with Deshaun Watson's likely suspension. Jacoby Brissett would start in Watson's absence.

Rosen, 25, has spent time with five NFL teams since he was drafted out of UCLA.

Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a five-year, $230.5 million extension.

The deal runs through 2028 and includes $160 million in guaranteed money.

The average annual value of Murray's deal is $46.1 million, which is the second-highest in the NFL behind only Aaron Rodgers ($50.3 million).

Murray, 24, was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2022, but the Cardinals had until May 2 to pick up his fifth-year option.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing Kyle Rudolph to a one-year contract, according to a source.

Tampa Bay will pair Rudolph with Cameron Brate amid varying reports about Rob Gronkowski's retirement.

The New York Giants released Rudolph in March after he had 26 catches for 257 yards and a touchdown in 2021.
